Ouarzazate, is a small town in Southern Morocco whose people and desert landscapes are perfect sets for some of the big American, French or Italian film productions.
From “Kundun” of Martin Scorsese to “Gladiator” and “kingdom of Heaven” of Ridley Scott, while passing by “the Mummy” of Stephan Sommers, the whole population serves as extras for films they will never see. Being accepted in a casting becomes a dream for the men, women and the children of the region. The gap is enormous between the strength of the international movie production which the local economic situation the people are living .
