TRT International Documentary Awards

The TRT International Documentary Awards have been organized since 2009, aligned with TRT’s global broadcasting mission, Türkiye’s public broadcaster. These awards aim to support international amateur and professional documentary filmmakers, ensure that documentaries from different countries reach audiences, and create a platform where documentary filmmakers and industry members can come together and exchange ideas.

Organized aligned with TRT’s vision, a strong and internationally renowned broadcasting brand, the festival’s impact continues to grow each year. Now in its 15th edition, the TRT International Documentary Awards brings together prestigious productions, acclaimed directors and producers, renowned documentary presenters, and leading academics. By harnessing its increasing influence in the international arena, the event embraces a mission to raise awareness and shape public discourse on issues related to humanity, peace, and universal values.

The TRT International Documentary Awards, which enriches the documentary landscape in Türkiye and globally, will showcase documentaries submitted in various award categories throughout its four-day calendar. Masterclasses with directors are held, along with talks, panels, and workshops on the present and future of documentary filmmaking. The festival, which will meet its audience in Istanbul, is free and open to everyone. We are delighted to see our place among the world’s esteemed festivals, featuring special film screenings, workshops, talks, and panels, as well as a vibrant Gala Night where the winners are presented with their awards.
